Can you lighten PM rods w/ no balance pads?
I have a set of these rods and wanted to lighten and balance them, but not sure where to take material from, any suggestions?

The big ends are really thick on the cap side, seems to be good for strength. I don't want to remove any material that will weaken the rod, so far all I have done is a beam polish. These are nice rods rated at 450HP, I sure hope so because my next 350 is going to make that and maybe a little more. I'm using JE flyweight pistons and trying to make the bottom end as light as possible.

The rods don't have balance pads because when they went to the PM process it produces a more consistent rod weight, so you shouldn't need to really remove much. when i balanced my Eagle h-beams (no balance pad) they told me to just take a little off the bottom, it didn't take much, wouldn't have had to do it if i wasn't balancing withing 1/2 gram per rod. you should be able to do the same if neccessary.
