Sold my 92 LO3 to my (now) girlfriend at 152,000miles, put a LT1 cam, double roller chain, v-springs, seals in at 168,000mi, drove from jersey to mississippi to michigan as a test ride after the cam, runs mid 14's at 173,000mi and still passing State Inspection. 2nd transmission and 3rd exhaust though

Ive got 143,000 on my trusty L-98. The best handling camaro I've had yet. It still has plenty of power when ya mash the pedal down, however, I do think I'm getting the bug. I think a 383 is in my near future!

yeah about blowin blue smoke.... that's is true. i've seen some many f-bodies and fox bodies for that matter doing that. i rag on my but i don't overrev it. hehe rev-limiter. my 126,000 mile l98 puffs no smoke whatsoever which suprises the hell out of me. no morning bowtie salute whatsoever. woo hoo.

theres a diff between ragging on it and abusing it.

you will NEVER see my car blow blue smoke..... i will replace the valve seals or rebuild the engine before that happens... i take care of every part of my car....

if somthing breaks, like, the AC for example, i fix it.. i dont just "rip out that junk"

my car has ZERO rust.... (gotta love southern cars)

im not the idiot doing burnout brakestands at redlights or doughnuts in the street....

cruising

i have 126K on my 85 z28. it only has 15K on the engine and 12K on the tranny. it sounds really nice driving under the expressway and reving it up. with the t-tops off you can almost feel the sound. it sees the red line every once in a while. i hate it when those POS sport compacts think that they have a faster ride than me. i know my 305 is not much to brag about but it feels good to ahead in the field. my first and previous car was a 78 olds cutlass with a stock original 260 v8 with 72K miles on the car. i want to sell it if anyone is interested. big jump from the 115 hp engine. my 305 was dyno tested at 245hp. yeah, it does feel good to have more hp. you can never have enough!

if you cant afford to fix it, then you shouldnt beat on it...

for example, i know full well if i run slicks, i may endup buying a new rear........ i dont want to buy a new rear right now, so i dont run them.

as long as you're able and willing to take care of the reprocussions of your actions, you're fine...

its the kid that does 80 burnouts and then complains he blew his rear tire that annoys me... if you cant afford tires, dont spin em. save up first.

but there the ones that beat it till it all broke and then blame the car

Transmission: 4L60e/TCI TCU

Hi everyone,
My 82 Bird has 256,000 miles on it. It came home from the body shop back in Setember. Finally got it to pass emission testing after replacing some the sensors on the 350 TPI motor. The TPI is the second motor and it has 52,000 miles on it. I just install a new BMR STB tonight, I will get the front end align this weekend and she will be ready for driving. My bird is getting very closed to be mint condition, she will only be driven for pleasure.

Well ever since i got my RS with 75,000 miles on it i had been waiting... no HOPING for the day it finnaly so much as SNEEZED...

and one summer day not to long ago (3 months!) it finnaly sneezed... some sensor went bad (too happy to find out which) so i just yoinked the motor and threw in my fresh 355. I was grinning ear to ear the day i started it up and it began to hunt for an idle and miss I said to myself, tommarow the 305 will be naught but memory.

and now i get to play with things like 250 shots, boost, and fuel infection at it greatest.

Car: 88 formula WS6
Engine: 305 Lo3
Transmission: 700-R4
138,000

I race my form WS-6 in auto cross, and if that aint hard on it, nothing is! repeated revs to 4500-5000 rpm and full braking.
the only thing that's in need of attn. is the valve seals. I likes to puff a little smoke after ideling for about 5 min. or when I first start it. It's still a winner!!!

Just got the car a few months ago and already put 3k on it - it started with 89k and it's an '88... now it got 92k, I guess resto people have something else to drive to work. I want a beater Firebird, 85-88 base model okay, so I can drive THAT to work, spiff up the GTA some, especially once it's painted, but that's way long-term planning.

Makes me wonder... is my engine original? I bought this thing used, odometer reads 173k, but she runs good, no smoke, only half a quart of oil in 1500 miles. Maybe I have the original, un-rebuilt 305 TPI! Wouldn't be too surprised after reading about a few of you guys.
