White spark plugs = Running lean?
A few weeks ago, while driving around 50, it sounding like a cardboard box was stuck under my car and after that noise went away, a rattling started in the area of the converters. I’m in the process of adding super high flow cats (so high flow you’d swear that they had a straight pipe through them) but I also started a tune up also. I pulled my plugs and they were all white. I also checked the timing and it was only 4 degrees advanced. I put it back to 6 degrees and it idles smother but still sounds like an exhaust leak (I’m almost certain that it isn’t) and has no power. I don’t have any overheating problems either. Could a clogged converter cause a lean condition?

Yes a clogged covertor can cause excessive exhaust gas temps. Not sure I would call that a lean condition but it would have the same effect. I worked on a Triumph Spitfire with a clogged cat, the piping before the cat was glowing red hot!
