Smog test tricks?
Which way do you adjust timing?
I've heard of putting a couple of bottles of gas treatment in first, but what else?
What are the dues and don'ts?
BTW no cat or AIR tubes, is it gonna be that hard?

NO cat or AIR, no offense man, but you are screwed, you may get away with no AIR if you are lucky, but without a cat, no way. You can always retard the timing some to help , but you really need a cat if you want a chance.

92RS's right. Appearances DO count in the smog test. I'm not sure what Texas' requirements are, but if you're looking for a cheap fix, go down to the junkyard and get a cat and put it on. After the test, take it off. A pain in the *** , for sure, but that ought to get you by for very little money.
My fav smog test cheater, where they don't check for looks but just check the tailpipe at idle, is to put a much smaller pulley on the smog (AIR) pump. That pump will spin so fast that the air will dilute the exhaust and fool the sniffer. You have to check for details like making sure the diverter valve stays closed, but that trick has worked in the past.

Many times they actually stick a small mirror under the car to look for a cat.
A good thing to do would be to have adapter plates welded on each side of the cat and have the same thing done to a 2 1/2" pipe of the same length. Before the e-check, bolt on the cat... afterwards, bolt the straight pipe in its place.

Around here being in buisness with a used car dealer I take cars to get inspected often and they don't check any thing they don't have too, I know they won't look but they'll probably stick it up my butt and check the readings, but do you think lowering the timing and the gas treatment woll come close if not work?

A few weeks before I went to my seconds smog test I got my gaskets changed. I also did the carb & fuel injector cleaner and put some No Smoke in my car right before I went to the testing site, because it was smoking terribly (i'll never get my oil changed at Wal-Mart again!) The tester was shocked when I showed him my old test results because id failed miserably the first time, and easily passed the second.

I suggest you don't retard the timing. I say this because thats how I failed my test. I readjusted it to 10*, and passed with flying colors.
Some tricks: 2 bottles of rubbing alcohol in the tank (1/4 tank of gas), when you are car 3 or less in line, put it in park, and keep the rpms up to 2000. This mostly is for keeping the Cat hot, but it also keeps things cleared out in the chambers, and keeps the whole engine really hot.
