I have an 86 Trans Am with a perfectly good GTA digital dash.Im now gona be buying an 88 GTA that has a standard non-digital dash.I was wondering how hard would it be to put my digital dash from my Trans Am, into my GTA thats a non digital?Has anyone done this, and how much was involved?

i don't know if there interchangable, i'm sure you would have to change the harness under the dash. If you find out you can't use the digital one, i'm looking for one for my 87. e-mail me at bohn333@yahoo.com if your interested in selling it.

You'll have to make sure you have the harnesses for the digital dash. And you're going to be about 20-25 wires short on the hookup end. You'll need some good wiring diagrams from both cars also.

many of the extra wires are for things like the door sensors, and light sensors that supply readings to that 'inconvenience center' on the dash. a lot of people have problems with that after conversions, but it doesn't affect anything functionally, it's just an annoyance with lights saying "door ajar" or "washer fluid low" when they're not. if you figure out the sensors, you can ground them or supply them +5v or +12v as appropriate to shut them off.
