HELP! I need a temporary fix for my blower motor.
Ok, I've broken down. I've come to the conclusion that I can't fix this stupid blower motor problem, so until I can get it to the mechanic, I need a temporary work around on this problem.
Here is what I want to do. Run a wire straight from the battery, to the blower motor. The problem is. I can't seem to get even THAT to work.
What I am doing is running a 10 gauge wire from the red post, to the power input on the motor. And leaving the stock ground connection hooked up to the motor. But nothing happens.
Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong? As I am frezzing my butt off

Ummm - If you have 12 volts to the motor and a good ground and it still doesn't work it sounds like the motor is toasted.

I'm with 88 427 Camaro on this one.
It takes 2 things to make the blower work.
1) Voltage
2) ground
Thats all. If you've got both and it don't work, its the blower motor.
Check your ground carefully. More problems lie with ground circuits than with power circuits.

Its a brand spanking new blower motor, if its fragged I'm gonna give someone hell!
Is there a way for me to make sure it has an undisputablely good ground connection? Something along the lines of running a wire from the ground prong, to the pavement?
(if thats a stupid statement, its because I know nothing about wiring)

run positive from pos on bat to blower motor, and run ground from bat to blower. if the motor doesnot work its toast. and as a temp fix, yo ucould rigup a relay setup to a switch in the car to manualy turn th eblower on if your factory wireing isnotworking

You're saying to run the ground wire from the blower straight to the negative post on the battery?
I was told this would blow up the battery. Shouldn't I ground out the connection on the frame of the car?

To the pavement????
Like stated above, run a positive and negative wire directly from the batter to the blower motor. If it doesn't run, the motor is bad.
Then wire in a relay and a manual switch to turn it on and off.
Check the current rating of the motor, but I am guessing that a 30amp relay and #10 wire will work for the power circuit and #14or #16 wire for the switching circuit.

when you say you've heard it will 'blow up the battery' you're recalling someone telling you about jump starting a car. there's a world of difference here. if you hook the wire up to the battery first and then to the motor, there will not be any sparks in the vicinity of the battery to ignite potentially explosive fumes that may be there. just in case, call the fire dept and wear asbestos underwear. hehe
