hey again -
From my knowledge, valve float is where the engine stops pulling at higher rpms.
the event that takes place is the valves hit the seats and bounce causing the lifters to hold the valve open for a longer time peroid to make up for the clearance seeing the lifters lose contact with the lobes on the cam.

yes, all it basically is are the valves not closing all the way at higher rpms causing loss in compression and efficiency.
