327 cube 375 horse cam?
Was there ever such a factory cam? I've heard they came out with a bunch of the old cam profiles, but I can't remember who makes them? Need some help here.

The 327 did come out in a 375 hp version. As for the cam, Crane makes some blueprint series cams or you can check with gm preformance parts, they still offer some of the old musclecar camshafts.

he's right. they do happen to make great paperweights if you find one, although they are rather long and roll easy.

Yes they made a 375hp cam.
The GM parts number is still 3849346
used in the early 60's corvette 327 fuel injection motors.
Also used in 365 hp carbed motors.
Also used in some 69 302 Z28 motors and High compression 350
Z28 LT-1's.
These cams were designed for a high compression 4 speed
car with lots of gear. Needs 11:1 or higher.
Makes 375 hp in a 327 with 11:1 cr 2.02x1.60 461X camel back heads
factory 64 corvette Ramjet fuel injection and corvette high performance 2.5" ramhorn manifolds.
Won't turn your stock 305 into a tire burner.
There are better cams these days.

The factory called it "375 HP" back when the HP ratings were beyond blue-sky.
I'd expect about 275-285 HP out of that motor by modern "ratings" methods.
It is the dung. Get something else. It was alot of fun in its day, made alot of high-RPM HP but zero low-end torque. A Kia Rio could outrun a 3.08 geared 3600 lb 350 car with that cam in it, from stoplight to stoplight. I don't think you'll be spending much time at 6500-8000 RPM during normal driving, as it was designed for; at below 3500 RPM it's pitiful.
I wouldn't know much about it though, I only had a couple of motors with one in them back when it was the stuff, so i suppose maybe the laws of physics might have changed since then. I've had much faster cars since with newer cams too.

i had a L79 327/350 for my first car. i'd guess it had the cam you're talking about. i swaped it for a solid lifter z/28 cam, can't remember the specs but the lash was .010 and .012, i do remember that after all these years. 4 speed and 4:56 gears made for a pretty nice set up. there are a lot more and lot better choices in cam grindes to be had in the 40 years since chevy made the 327.

It is a solid lifter cam, yes. Those engines were beasts, but weren't very streetable. They didn't like to idle below 1,000 rpm and made very very little power untill about 3500 rpm, then would spin like mad untill 7000 or so.
I don't suggest it for a 3rdgen. It would have a nasty rumble for sure, especially since it has the solid lifter sound added as well, but wouldn't have the grunt to back it up in a pump-gas 305.
EDIT: I know all this because my dad's brother had either a '63 or a '66 Chevy II that had a 327 (4 speed and 4.11 behind it) with that cam and about 11.5 compression. It was fast as hell, but required a maintenace schedule on par with most purpose-built race cars, and needed at least 104 leaded to run right.
