EGR Valve???
What is the EGR Valve? Do i need it? What does it do? I need to remove it so i can put in my headers and i live in Orlando, FL so no emissions inspections. Thanks

You will have to delete it out of the ECM. The EGR puts a small amount of exhaust back into the combustion chamber to burn off more fuel lowering the emissions. Since I have ZZ4 heads there were no EGR passages in the heads so I had to delete the EGR. I put a block off plate under the EGR valve and took it out of the ECM so I wouldn't be throwing codes.

So how does one take the egr out of the ECM.....I too made an egr block off plate for my factory aluminum intake because I will be runnin vette heads.. Will I have problems at start up or will a cold air set up help combustion temps?.. It's an 86 lg4 T/A thanks
