THe steering box you will need is the manual box out of an s-10. I believe it is a direct bolt in mod but i am not positive.

Cool, thanks for the replys. What year s-10 should I be looking for? Is it something I should just go to a junk yard for? And is this a project that could probably be completed in a day?

how often do you drive this car and is it a street driven car? I'd like to know how driveable the car would be as a daily driver and whether you liked the swap in the end. Anyone on here done it and have positive/negative views of it.

It looks like I'll probably be doing the swap, so I'll let you know how it goes.

sounds good to me. My car is a daily driver but it doesnt see winters so i think id be willing to put out a little more effort so i didnt have to turn the steering wheel something like 3 1/2 times just to get it to go around a 90 degree corner....(im assuming a manual doesnt need to be turned as far). Anyways yeah buddy me if you dont mind and let me know what its like. I will probably buddy you and bother you in a while if you dont get back to me just encase you forget this is something im actually really interested in.

My friend has a '69 Camaro and I have a '72. His is manual and mine's power. He turns his a lot more than I do mine.
It could be something about a 69 though. :sillylol:

A steering box replacement can be done in a day. I know because I recently replaced mine.
What I want to know is why on earth you would even want to go to a manual steering box? For handling and turning abilities the quick ratio steering box is best.

Currently, they power steering pump isn't even being held on correctly, it's kinda rigged on since after we ported the heads.
And the biggest reason is my power steering went out on me the other day, so I have a good excuse

Anyway...
You can make a car with power steering stop doing that if the caster setting is changed. You'll have to find an alignment shop in your area that's capable of doing that though. A lot of them don't know how. All they know is what the factory specs are.
Don't call the Car-X Man. :sillylol:
