Re-tapping aluminum manifold
My edelbrock performer intake has a bolt hole that feels stripped...the on that holds the distributor down, is there a special way to re-tap aluminum or can i just do it as normal? THanks

personally i would just buy a heli coil kit drill it out retap and insert the coil and put the origional bolt back in.. should be able to get a kit for under 10 bucks at any autoparts store.. as for a special way to do it... theres none that i know of.. its just like tapping steel except a lot easier due to the softer metal

Use a little WD-40 as a tapping fluid and it will make a smoother thread, sometimes if you tap aluminun with no cutting fluid it will tear the thread.
