loopy idle
i have a 92 z, with a 305 tpi-5speed. a couple days ago it started acting stupid. when i come to a stop the rpms will drop down to round 500, and just lope, like i got a cam in the thing. Once you go up into the rpms though, it acts like nothings wrong. Granted it ran excellent before this happened, what in the hell could be wrong? Any info would be appreciated.

My MAP sensor was crap(although it was new) and it caused this same symptom. I bought a Borg Warner MAP and it fixed the prob.

Scott,
If you're not getting any "coeds" coming up on your computer, you're not visiting the correct porno sites. Just pullin' yer chain, dude...

ZDaddy,
Try cleaning the IAC air passages and pintle. If the problem persists, you might want to remove the IAC for a more thorough cleaning and a single drop of engine oil on the pintle worm gear/shaft.
If the TPS and throttle minimum air position are both set correctly, the IAC should be able to modulate air to maintain the proper RPM at idle. Target idle on a TPI is 600-650 RPM in DRIVE, or about 800-850 RPM in neutral on your manual.
