yesterday i take off for super chevy, get new plug wires, come home, start car, rev car, car stumbles, car stutters, car backfires a few times, car dies. car won't start. let car sit, car starts fine, car revs fine, put car in gear, car sputters and dies. car won't start, waited, car starts, car goes in gear, sputters, i hit gas, car backs 10 ft into garage and dies. (never got the new wires on, this was all with the car untouched)

Up until yesterday, the can ran like a top, not fast, but like a top. I hadn't had the hood off in a month...only thing i can think of is that rain splattered off the windsheild under the cowl and started accumulating on the ignition...good theory, but it kinda acts like it's loading up too, and at times, it'll start, idle fine, rev slowly up to 5500, and drop back down to idle and then die after 1-2 minutes of idling.

it's got ac rapidfires, accel 8.8mm wires, accel super coil, hei dist, stock module, reman edelbrock 650....timing hasn't been touched since it last ran (ran good)...what in the hell is wrong?

this engine has never ran to the way similar engines have...any ideas what's wrong and causing the problem at hand or the problem overall?

 

Check the firing order...check check and recheck..easy to get mixed up...

 

i wish it was something that clear cut, but i've put 600 miles on the car without ever touching the ignition, and for the first 600 miles it ran like a top...

 

test the module...
