Help, wrong Accel wires I think!
Ok I just got mt Accel 8.8's in the mail today I got part # 8031, that is for a HEI system. Will it work with a non HEI system, or do I need part # 8865?

what do you mean it won't work with HEI? you are running points? there are only two main types of igntion.. points and HEI... they got rid of points back in the early 70's I believe.. my 70 big block shortbed Chevy truck has em, but i also have a '79 305 Camaro engine and it has HEI... either way, if they are HEI wires you can use em

Since I'm so nice, I looked up the part # for ya.
For a Camaro's 1987-92 TPI 305 (code F), there are two numbers: 8865/8965. The catalog says an 8800 number means spiral core, the 8900 number means graphite supression core.
The 8031's you're holding is a universal set, for 77-92 v8's with 90 degree plug boots. It's listed as "90 degree 5/8 hex plug w/male tower dist cap".
So if you want their custom fit wires, get the 8865's. If you want to make your own wire lengths, keep the 8031's.
