Holly Crap Batman !!!!
my LT-1 motor in my drag car seemed to be lacking on the HP scale somewhat, after reading some searches last night I went out and checked the valve lash, MAN, whoever had the motor before me must have been nuts. I installed the oil spash clips and started the motor, then loosened the rockers till I started hearing ticking, this is the crazy part, I had to loosen each nut about 5 or 6 full turns to start hearing the "tick" then thightened until it stopped then 1/4 turn more. what a difference that made, the car feels like it has a ton more power now.
the question is?
I made about 10 passes (1/8th) with it like that, do you think I hurt anything doing it. the motor sounds strong and has no knocks or taps, I am just checking.
P.S. going to the track in a little while and we'll see if my "seat of the pants" dyno is calibrated.

I think you'll be OK. The lifters took out the slack, so you may have taken a few miles off of them.

BTW, you're a Virginia guy. Do you ever go up to MIR to race that thing? We should meet up sometime at the track

I haven't been there racing yet, but I went a few months ago to watch the PRO-stocks run, I plan on going there to race at some point but I don't know when yet, I also plan on going to VMP in dinwiddie at some point, definatly for "super chevy" this year.

When you go down to VMP, you gotta meet up with a guy named Joe Overton. He's got the fastest n/a LT1 in the country.
