question about oil pumps...
i finished a rebuild on my 305 a few months ago.. my oil pressure was so high with my Clevite pump that it was blowing oil all over the damn place so I switched the pump with a Melling stocker... I didn't get a gasket for the pump to block seal... at idle in gear when i'm running about 220 degrees water temp my pressure is about 22-25psi or so... is that alright or is the pump sucking up air?

As far as I know there is no gasket that goes between the pump assembly and the block.
At idle 20 to 25 psi for oil pressure should be fine general rule of thumb that I have heard is 10 psi for every 1000 rmp.
