if the cable is too short, you will need to replace it..my question is, what did you change that caused the shortage ??

ok, the tbi adapter plate i got to use on my performer intake manifold , --holly adapter-- either sets the tbi one inch forward, or one inch pack towards the dist, i have no clue why it doesnt place it dead middle, its just gay ...at least thats my theory.

aas off now its set one inch back, and all slack is accounted for in everything, bu heres my problem....my air cleaner lid --drop in type-- is right against the plug wires comming off the dist and this just bothers me, ..i have the ends of the plugs all kinds of aped up in electrical tape. everything works great and all but i want to set it the other way --inch forward-- so i can take off the stupid tbi LID spacer ring so i get better air flow.

i know, if it aint broke dont fix it, if this were the case this site wouldnt exist lmao.

yep... gotta love it... Damn people over at holley sure are stuborn. Nothing they make TBI wise is a direct swap. What i did to solve this origionally was to shorten and recrimp the end links on the linkages. Crimping the link back on the throttle cable in the desired location is realativly straight forward, however, getting it off the cable w/o demolishing it will require some creativity on your part. Oh, as for the air cleaner, I used a 10 in cleaner with a 2 in element (same size as the element in the stock air cleaners, IIRC). Its not much of a restriction with my present 670. It only gives around .15 inHg @ 4000 rpm increase in pressure drop across the tb, according to the MAP sensor. If you have the stock tbi on a mostly stock motor, this will be fine; although, it looks kinda funny having such a small air cleaner on a V8.
