Vac. leak or trans. problem?
The situation is during normal driving, the car acts fine. Idles around 550 rpm, but when I pass someone or take off from a stop light strong, maybe 50% or more throttle, the car acts up. Example: I let off the gas, it seems to have a various drag in the drivetrain, a pull and let go feel, the rpms are not jumping around during the time, and it idles at 1000 rpm. I thinking it my transmission going out.

let me understand... a pull in drag feel? like when your in a low gear going at high speeds?
when you say pull and let go does that mean you go to take off and it starts to pull then sound like its in nuetral?
a bad tranny sign would be if you floor it in drive and it slips out and just reves real high.. also if you go to take off and you get a big jerk like a nuetral drop.

It feels if you were in overdrive and down shifted to drive and back to overdrive. The transmission is not actually down shifting, just has that drag feel, as if something is holding it back and letting go.

i would check the position of the cable on the actual trans... make sure you have some play in your cable... unless it is doing any of the other serious trans slip problems
