What fuel pump for carb 383 stroker (former tbi)
Hey guys i have a full solid roller 383 stroker (around 450Hp) and my in tank stock pump (92 firebird 305 tbi) has gone out.
What should i replace it with? I have an external holley blue pump, but i guess i need to at least remove the intank pump?
I have a regulator to keep the pressure around 6-7 psi.
Any advice? thanks,
Shane

removing the old pump isnt nessicary, i've heard of people simply bolting on mechanical pumps when their intake pumps have gone and using the burnt out motor and the fuel pickup

I'd get rid of the in-tank pump and just use a mechanical one on the block. A stock one one is entirely enough for that low of a HP level (flow requirement).

how easy/hard is it to install a mechanical one in the block ?
would i want a returnless setup or a return setup?
Some people say you can pull through the intake pump no probs, some say remove it.. anyone done any flow testing? :-/
thanks guys
