What Heads/Cam for an l98?

I'm looking to get the Edelbrock Performer RPM Aluminum Heads for my car, however I don't know which ones to get.
What combustion size do i need and do i want just the heads, or angle/straight plug heads?

The motor is the L98 5.7L 350

While I'm here, i'll also be getting a CAM As well, im planning on getting an SLP cam for the motor, which one do i want? I don't know jack about this heavy duty stuff so i don't know which of the cams im supposed to get, there's a few listed but i dont know which ones match up.

As long as cost isn't an issue,I'd put a 383 kit in it,and add some AFR heads. Then I would call Comp Cams and get some advice on which cam to get based on what you have,ie: intake system, gears, etc., and what you want the car to do.

Those Edelbrock heads will work fine and can give you up to 430hp, providing that the rest of the engine is up to the task ie: TPI.

SLP makes a couple of good cams for this motor. One is fairly mild (206/206 460/480), the other is silly (234/234 500/510) and would require many additional mods to need that much cam.

There are better cam choices from Crane and Comp cams. As a rule, I would stay at or below 220/220 duration, 500/500" lift and 110-112 LSA. Anything larger than that and you'll have a street car with a very nasty temper (hard to drive).

With any head and cam upgrade, you'll want to also upgrade the TPI to take advantage of the additional power. Stock TPI will run out of steam around 4500rpm. Those heads will see 6000rpm easy.

If you port match your plenum with your TB and port your runners to match your gaskets, your stock TPI will do fine. Don't spend your money on any new TPI stuff, get the twisted wedge haeds from trick flow and a SLP cam with the 224/230 duration and you will pump out 400 ponies. Also, go with the 383 stroker kit, you should feel that.

If you have exhaust mods, the more radical of the SLP cams will work well with the heads. The 64 or whatever cc chamber heads will work well.

I've got edelbrock headers and 3" dual cat to a flowmaster muffler and one 3" pipe out the back. I gotta get some high flow cats though cuz i dont think its doing enough yet.

I've also got the SLP runners, i just have to port the plenum to match up, i also have the SLP throttle body flow booster.

My final goal is 400-450 HP, i'd rather not get a new TPI unit, but if i do i'd go with the Edelbrock/Accel combo, but like i said i'd rather not get a new one. I know my trans can take the power of it, im worried about the rear though, we'll have to see.

I think with the Edelbrock Performer Heads (straight plug right?) and either an LT4 hot cam or the SLP silly cam i should be able to do it fine.
