Where is the Fan Relay??

My 90 Camaro RS (305TBI) over heated on me so i added coolant and even changed the thermostat and it still over heats on the street but not on the freeway. so i checked the fan and it wasnt spinning. i started off with my finger and it started to spin pitifully slow. is it the fan motor or relay?? please help. Thanks a lot.

Sounds like your fan motor could be fried.

The fan relay is located at the upper right part of the firewall. It has four wires going to it, I forget what colors. I believe they are green, red, brown/white, and black/red.

It's funny you mention that. That's where my Helm manual says it's supposed to be on my 85, but guess what. It's not there! I don't see any vacant plug off my harness that would indicate that it's supposed to be there too.
I need to follow the wires from the fan and see where they go.

Car: 89 IROC
Engine: Yes
Transmission: That, too.
My 89 has two fan relays, and they are located near the battery on the passenger side. Best way to be certain is to find the wires which exit the fan motor, and just trace them back until you hit a relay. Various years of F-bodies had the relays in different places... pretty much wherever they had room it seems.

On my 1991 RS 305 TBI, the coolant fan rela is on the firewall (drivers side). Next to the fuel pump relay. The coolant fan relay has 4 wires: Red - fusible link, Brn - fuse block, grn/white - A/C control and fan switch
Blk/red from fan motor.
Does your fan come on when you turn on the A/C? Is your air dam in good shape?
