No parking brake, what's up with that?

No parking brake, what's up with that?
Well the parking brake light is on all the time, and pulling it up or down does nothing. Snapped cable??? Guess I really need to jack it up and have a good look.

Are you saying the park brake doesn't work? If so, I'd guess you have two separate problems: A shorted brake light wire/switch (possible the switch popped out of its bracket), and a disconnected or broken park brake cable.
The switch is on the lever. Take to console top off to have a look. I had the cable jump off the T-bar at the front when wet & cold and if I released the brake too quickly. Solved by lubricating the cable and tightening the adjustment.
