Unbolting the Engine

I have a 90 rs 305 tbi. What is the best way to unbolt the engine from the tranny?

How come you're separating the two? Which one are you pulling? You should be able to get to all the bolts from underneath ok. If you are removing the engine, or removing both, you may want to leave them attached. If you're just removing the tranny, then you'll want to go ahead and separate them.

i crawled under the other day and tried to reach the middle set and my hands are to big.
I saw somewhere you could remove the cross member and lower the rear end of the tranny will it give me enough room.
I am trying to keep this inconspicuious, not supposed to do any car work in my neighborhood!

go to sears or some place that sells alot of tools and look for about a 3foot extenstion for like a 3/8ths drive and that will work. thats the easiest way to gettin to those bolts.

Pull them out together and put them in together.
It makes it really easier.
We did it this way on 2 setups we installed, LT1/4L60E's into an 82 T/A and my 86 T/A. did the 82 on saturday and mine on sunday.

Take out the distributor first; you have to anyway. When you do that, you can just stand there and get to the top bolts from above with a box end wrench.
