1991 Camaro Z28

How much do you guys think a 1991 Camaro Z28 with no engine or trans is worth. A guy is telling me $3000, I think that is too much for a third gen with no engine or trans. What do you guys think. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Justin

Do not be a fool. I would not pay anymore than 800.00 for the car less motor and tranny. If it was a "69" vert pace car then it would be o.k.

Depends on the condition of the whole thing. If it is in absolute mint condtion, then $3000 is really a pretty low number. Mint 91/92 Zs are pretty rare, and if you're looking for a project car anyway, a rolling chassis makes more sense then shelling out $$$ for a low mileage orginal car and ripping the stock stuff out to rebuild it. Stock thirdgen engines and trannies are junk / dime a dozen. When a nice 91/92 Z can easily sell for $8k+, i assure you that the engine and tranny don't make up $5k of the value.

for 3k, a rolling third gen ought to wash itself everyday and put itself together when you buy parts for it. the answer is it's worth no more than 1200 if it's perfect and normally about 700 to 900.

I'll admit i'm not in the rolling chassis market much, but i stand by what i said. When a mint 91/92 Z can easily go for 8k, do you really think the value is in the engine and tranny?

If i was in the market for a rolling chassis, i'd expect a burned out hulk or an otherwise trashed car if all i had to play with was 1k.

And actually, i was offered 4k and a 86 IROC hardtop shell for my vert as a rolling chassis, and it's in far from perfect condition. Granted convertibles are more rare, but nonethless proves my point.
