Looken to beat a 98 GTi VR6, are thease mods good?
Ight my friends got a 98 VW GTi VR6 without back seats and 17" rims. Getting a Chip and new intake. His car is about 400lbs lighter (2700vs 3100lbs) and I was thinking about thease mods:
Edelbrock performer Intake Manifold $157
Edelbrock Elite Air Cleaner 13"x2" Air Cleaner $50
Holly Street Avenger Carb 670cfm $370
Flowmaster 3" American Thunder Cat-back $322
LT1 cam (from a friend) $50-60
TCI 2400-2600RPM Stall TC $340
B&M Supercooler Trans cooler $56.00
TransGo TH700-R4 Shift Kit $120.00
$1465 w/o shipping
Im eventually going to get:
Hedman Ceramic Coated Headers $304
Hedman Y-Pipe $100
(2x) AR Torque Thrust II 16x8n $420.00 (F)
(2x) AR Torque Thrust II 17x11in $644.00 (R)
(2x) BF G-Force TA KDW P245-50ZR-16 $286 (F)
(2x) BF Comp TA Drag Radials $320 (R)
AFR 190cc 74cc Alu Heads $1250
Does this look like a good start? And is the LT1 cam enough or should i got ZZ4 cam? Thanx

His car will prolly run mid 15's. A friend of mine has a 2000 VR6 with exhaust and intake and runs a 15.4. All you need are headers and gears and you got him.
