Posi rear-end in my 3.1?

i have been questioning whether or not i have a posi rearend. i first noticed that when i pulled into my gravel driveway, i left two skid marks. i have been told that an open rearend would give the same results considering the lack of traction and plus because it was on a hill. well, today it rained and i went out to have some fun and sure enough, when i jusmped on it, both tires spun. now, is that possible with an open rearend due to the lack of traction or no? was the posi rearend an option for the 91 3.1L????

My friends 84 2.8 would even brake torq posi sometimes. I thinks there just wasn't enough grip to make one tire spin.

Because of the mysteries of physics, an open rear will occasionally spin both tires. The real question is what does it NORMALLY do? Does it ever spin just one tire?

Also if you look up your RPO codes one of them should be posi.

Car: 82 camaro SC
Engine: 350
Transmission: 700r4
If traction is equal on both rear tires, both will spin with an open rear end. If one of the rear tires has less traction, the power will go to that tire. The power follows the path of least resistance. Put your right rear on wet pavement and the left rear on dry clean pavement. With an open rear car, only the right rear will spin. Posi will give some power(but not all) to the left rear and cause it to spin.
