Back end jumps...................

If I'm stopped at a light or something and I hit the gas a little hard, my back end kinda feels like it "jumps" a little bit. Somebody told me that my rear end or tranny is screwed up somewhere. It especially does it when there are people in the back seat. Anybody know if this is normal or do I have something to worry about?

If what I call "wheel hop" is what your describing, it's more "normal" for rear engine/RWD cars... in a front engine/RWD car something is not right. I couldn't say for sure what the problem is, although I don't see how it could possibly be the trans...

Wheelhop certainly does happen in front engine RWD cars...
But if it,s acting up too much look at your suspension, LCA's..

Are you sure it's the rear of your car jumping. To an inexperienced person, the banging of a broken tranny mount would probbaly sound like the rear was hopping.
Easy (but dirty) test. Do a light neutral drop (rev the engine to 2-3k rpms and stick it in gear) did you hear a lound bang under your console? tranny mount. is broken. Fix it ASAP unless you want to replace all your U-joints and possibly break more stuff. 9bah, i know neutral drops are hard on u joints too, thats why i said do it light, and it's only a 6 we're talking about here.)
Just adding this cuz i don't seen how a 6 has the power to get itself into wheelhop.
