Car won't start...need some answers
Well, my car ran fine on the way to work friday. Worked all day and then got in my car and it wouldn't start, it didn't even try to fire. I checked some things out and found out it isn't getting any spark. I replaced since then the cap, rotor, wires, plugs, coil, ignition module. I tested for power to the coil and I do have power. I've also checked all the fuses underneath the dash and none are blown. Is their anything else I can check, other fuses or parts?? I don't have any codes either. I can only think that either the ECM or distributor pickup coil is bad. What else could it really be? How can I test the pickup coil or ECM to see which is at fault? I would need step by step directions as I don't know most of the technical names of all the electronic parts or where some of them are located. I do of course know where the pickup coil and ECM is obviously but don't know exactly how to test them. I do have a ohmmeter but I just bought it and haven't learned how to use it yet. I could really use the help QUICK as I have to work tommorrow (MONDAY) and I don't have a vehicle or a way to work and the last thing I need is to get fired. Thanks a million.

What does your security iight for the VATS system do when you try to start it?
Does it come on then go out? or does it just stay on?
The reason why I ask is because if it comes on but doesn't go out then I'd check into your ignition lock cylinder.
I just spent the better part of three days troubleshooting a problem where everything was fine, and when you went to crank you got absolutely nothing. I too, like you had spark to the coil, and all the fuses were good just no crank. After replacing the starter and a starter enable relay, it turned out to be the lock cylinder.
If this is the case, the two wires that hook into your lock cylinder may have been worn down to where you won't get a good contact to the resistor in your key causing VATS to disable the car.
Just a thought,
Chris
