Rare valve covers i think.....
hey all i have a set of cast aluminum valve covers with the M/T logo on them, these are the first Mickey Thompson valve covers i have ever seen, they have a black wrinkle finish on them and the logo and lines are brushed, just wondering if anyone has ever seen them before

You must not have been hot-rodding for very long....
They were extremely common at one time, probably more common than any other cast VCs in the late 70s and early 80s. They're just typical old aftermarket valve covers that don't quite fit right on street cars with alternators and air conditioners, don't have an oil fill that seals, don't support PCV properly, etc. etc. etc. .... they were pretty much the poster child for all the bad things about aftermarket valve covers.
Last set I had, was on a Dodge 4x4 I sold a couple of years ago.
What difference would it make if they were "rare"? Would that overcome their deficiencies?

I've got a set of valve covers that look just like those buy instead of saying M/T it says Camaro. They don't have that flat section on the bottome, it's fins all the way. Does anybody have pictures of what I'm talking about?
I plan on using them but I'm going to polish them and paint the camaro characters black, everything else polished. Please, if you have a picture post it. I've been trying to find them online but have yet to see them.
