I have an 89RS and I dont know what to do... I can put $3k down on an LS1, and spend money on exhaust and intake and run 12s... or i was thinking, can you build a nice complete 350 and buy all the parts necessary for a TH400 with posi for $3k?

$3k, it can be done. I say build a 350/th350 combo. It can be done easily if you go carb.

Wait, are you speaking of buying a 98 car with the LS1 in it, or are you speaking of putting an LS1 engine into your RS? If it's the latter, it takes a lot more than 3k for that. If it's the former, definately, definately go for it.

I was saying either put $3K down on buying an LS1 car, or using that $3K to make my RS run 12s... IDK I just think the LS1 sounds so damn appealing! :lala:

you are putting 3k DOWN. what is the whole car costing you?
and what do you WANT. if you WANT to keep your RS, spend the money on it, and keep it. if you WANT a new car and the LS1 is waht you are looking for go for it.

You will be spending much more then 3 grand on the ls1 car to start out with. The thing is an LS1 will be a much more reliable vehicle, but you will spend about 15 gs on the car. If you want the cheapest way to get into the 12, mod your RS.
