5.0 TPI rev limiter
I have a 5.0 TPI 91 Z28. According to the tech article on this web site, Z28's "do not have the "governer" to contend with." If this is true, why do I have a rev limiter that kicks in at 110mph? Is it basically disabled the same way as the TBI's... Can anyone help me? Thanks...

A Governor is different from a rev limiter. A governor will limit your top speed, where as a rev limiter limits the engine's rpms and will cut spark( I do believe).

I could depend on your cars gearing at about 4500-4800 RPM a stock TPI will run out of air to feed the engine so if your in 3rd gear and @ 4600rpm and 110mph it my feel like a governer.
Just my guess on it, not sure.
I should ask if it is a 5 speed or auto, G92 or no?

Yea, your motor is probably just running outta juice... not enough power to keep accelerating.

Both speed and rev limiting was accomplished by cutting the fuel by setting the injector pulse width to zero, all from within the ECM.

I agree with RBob, check your stock wheels if they ar 15" then you probably have a speed limiter. A simple custom chip will fix the problem.
BTW. Yes it's a problem before you fix your speedo and 112 mph on the speedo = 92 mph in real life w/ 3.73 gears and all your friend's in 110 hp sh*t boxes start beating on the highway.
