Mech. Fuel pump or Carb Problem??????
A couple days ago the car was running fine, I stopped at a truck stop and maybe 2 or 3 miles down the road it dies, so I crank her back up, she dies again.
While on the side of the road I noticed there was no gas coming out of the jets, so I figured I needed a new pump.
Today I pulled the line off at the carb and there was gas in it, so I checked the fuel filter and It looked bubbled out like there was too much pressure.
Just to see if that was the problem I put everything back together without the filter and it ran but badly, it seemed to be getting too much gas and only ran well at high rpm.
Does the fuel filter help regulate the pressure?
Is something wrong with my pump, or is it in the carb?
Fuel pump is stock. carb is an rochester m4me.

GREAT! Now I have gas In my oil, and it won't crank unless its to the floor.
So I guess I have a pretty bad intake leak, hopefully.
Is there anything else that would cause this?

Bad fuel pump. It has fuel on one side of its rubber diaphragm, and the crakcase of the other. When it ruptures, fuel gets in the oil.
Change your fuel pump, see if the car runs better, if not figure out why. I'd bet that's all that's wrong with it.

Thanks for the help guys .
Theres so much gas in the oil its not even funny, and it looks like oil/gas started coming out at the base of the distributor.
When I quickly go from idle to full throttle it spews gas out of the carb. is that normal?
