Grinding Noise`
The other day i went up a road and went over a large dip and bottomed out pretty badly. The front end of my car slammed down pretty hard. Now sometimes when I turn i hear a loud Grinding noise from the center front of the car. I brought it to a shop today, and he said that he saw nothing unusual, but the only way to check completely is to start taking things apart. What do you all think the noise could be. It sounds as though it is coming directly under the Shifter. Front center under shifter

Anyway, enough of the "old perv" stuff. Don't overlook the rear suspension and exhaust system. The noise could start at the rear and just be coming up the tunnel (there I go with the "dirty old man" stuff again...)

Did this shop you took it to, put your car up in the air to look underneath??? If not..stay away from that place.. Any shop that tells you that the only way to find the problem is to start talking things apart is trying to rip you off, and is full of monkey poop. Just about any problem can be basically figured out, with out ripping your car apart to find it. I would take it to another shop or if you have a close friend or relative that knows their stuff. As for us here, being able to help.ummm not a easy task to diagnose something over the internet. People discirbe thing differently then others, making it impossible to tlel whats, what.

Is that a BAD thing? When I was younger, that used to be a GOOD thing. Maybe I'm gettin' a little too geriatric...

Like said check the torque arm and trans mount. Check the TC and flywheel cover to make sure it hasn't been bent in (this would cause it to rub the previously mentioned parts). Maybe even get the front end in the air and check play in the wheels and suspension.
