sup guys?....well i just bought my grandpas 37,000 mile 86 cavalier yesterday for 300 bucks. the car is in awsome shape! little surface rust, and some other blemishes, but no dents. interior is awsome, except the starting to sag head liner....but what else can you ask for from a 300 buck car?? iv tried to find some specs of this thing and all i could find was mpg which was 23 city-29 highway (better than the 12-13 my TA gets!)....the two things i want to know is the weight, and the HP that this 2.0 automatic FI car has.... my friend has been tryin to make his VW passat fast, and it only runs a 16.2, so i told him that ill race him, hahaha......ok just wondering if anyone knew where to get some specs..thanks

close friend of mine just got an 89 cavalier, thing is pretty cool for a small beater car lol is yours the 4 door or the 2 door? 37,000 miles is absolutely crazy man, not bad at all for $300 lol

I am not sure what motor it has in it.If it is the 2.2 then watch out for blown head gaskets.I just bought a 92 RS for a daily driver. After I changed the oil I was checking the other fluids and found out it was low on antifreeze.I added some and put some in the overflow. When I drove it to get it inspected the guy looked at it showed me where there was some stop leak running from in between the head and block. So I got a blown head gasket to fix.
Oh well I guess.Never know what your getting into buying a used car.
Geez I guess I need to learn to read better!2.0 not a 2.2
