I picked up the dual snorkel off the internet. I then took it to a plating shoe here in Phoenix. The other duct work I got from the local Chevy dealer. I have since added some magna braid. I will do a polished brake resevior lid and I have thought about a chrome alternator. But I am having no trouble with my alternator. If it goes out I will probably do it. Eventually I will add chrome valve covers also.

Well this will probably get locked because lack of technical content.......but.....Here's mine anyway.
Very outdated pic. Sense then I've done the following: new heads, radiator, valve cover breathers, tore out unneeded wiring along with cleaning and painting bay, new wires, and a lot more.

And you can wash your engine bay at the car wash with not trouble. Cover the distributer so it does not get too wet. With the engine nice and hot spray some degreaser around on everything. YOu can use the "gunk" type products. They work well if you have heavy grease deposits. I like to use some Simple Green at 100% strength. Its biodegradeable. So no worries there. Let the degreaser sit for a bit. Use a brush on the places that are extra dirty. Then rinse.
Some of the car wash bays can be pretty high pressure. So be careful you don't break anything. Your home garden hose also does a nice job. About once a month and you'll have one of the cleanest engine bays around.
Another thing you can do is after the engine is dry. Take some Armorall (spelling?) and mist it up in the air above the engine and let the mist fall on the engine. It makes the lines and hoses look great. However it will attract dust after a while.
Post some pics when you are done.

yeha i have some of the gunk degreaser stuff. havent tried it but i might just spray it all over the engine, and engine compenents, and just lets it soak then wash off. they also have engine degreaser at the car wash i could use.
also

oh and, what are those hoses called that look "meshed" if you know what i mean. like the one that goes from the rad to the thermostat and the ones from the water pump and ****. are they expensive? i would like some of those too.
again, would i look like a ***** if i painted the power steering fluid resevoir blue and the water pump blue? or should i leave it and just clean them up really well. i guess it would help if i had a pic. sorry bout the length.

I think you refer to the stuff called Magna Braid. It's about $40. It comes in a kit to do most of the hoses in the engine compartment.
You can try sanding the brake cylinder housing. That might make it look better. And then you should paint it any color you want. After all it is your car.

Um, I hope you don't mean that the pic you attached is your only form of a dyno sheet you have, as in that's what you used to say you had a "chassy dyno"...

I said dyno sheet not screen capture. I still don't buy it! Show me a printed data sheet for the dyno run. BTW-chassis (not chassy) dyno is with the engine in the car!!

I'm not trying to be an ******* so I'm sorry if I'm coming off like one. Its just that people (especially around here) go around shooting of numbers and I'm like..What the hell! Nobody seems to have substantial proof and most of the time they are way optomistic. Well I'm done bitchin! blah blah blah....

So I'm guessing you refer to your computer screen as "they."

Well my car was hardly ever driven its whole life. Then the previous owner bought it and drove it alot. Then I got it with 64k on it. So the engine was already pretty clean. But I did spend hours getting in all the small places and polishing.

Did anyone get the joke of how the guy posted a pic of that bird or am I the only one that thought it's funny?
IROCZZ3: I like that air intake setup you have. Is it the stock airbox with that 90* elbow off the TB, or is it a whole aftermarket piece?

i would imagine they do it during the engine swap. taking out the engine is easy to do anyways, so if you really want to do it its not that big of a deal
