sputters and dunno why

i have a 350 motor, carb, HEI distrib..

and it acts like the timing is off or something, but the timing is dead on..

sometimes when i start the car it will backfire but at idle it seems to idle perfect, doesn't miss or backfire, runs great..

now, when you put the car in D it'll idle at about 700rpm, thats fine no prob there.. but when you slowly accelerate it starts to miss or something?!?! when you get to about 1500rpms it seems like it starts to miss and drops down to about 1300rmps for a few sec and starts hesitating like it wants to stall BUT it won't ever stall, then finally it goes and accelerates normally no prob.... 2nd gear has the prob but not NEARLY as bad as 1st..

now that i think about it, it acts like there are bubbles in the fuel flow.. but i kinda think it's a spark problem i dunno

heres where it gets me at WOT i don't have this problem.. the car screams, doesn't miss good fuel flow... only when i go easy on the car it acts messed up..

i recently replaced my spark plugs(about when the problem started happening) but the coil, wires, distrib, cap, rotor, everything is new..

i have to get this fixed because around 1500rpms in first it will jerk you around and sucks

any help would be deeply appreciated, thanks guys

Check to make sure the choke is set properly.

well i am know carb expert but chokes are used to start a car right?, then when warmed up enough the choke can be off..

like for example having the choke on half way my motorcycle runs like crap at certain times and other time i forget its still on..

just check the choke so you can take it out of the equation

If the choke isn't set properly, you could run lean, which can cause popping thru the intake.
