ARP oil pump driveshaft install question

Im installing my oil pump now but have run into a problem. With the ARP driveshaft, you don't use a nylon retainer correct? Im pretty sure ARP has a built on metal retainer but it isn't a snug fit. When I try to install the driveshaft with the pump, the driveshaft will disengage the pump, when I flip the motor over will it reengage the pump and will everything be cool or am I missing something? Thanks guys.

Yes, it will fall back down on there. It's not supposed to be tight.
