any 350 oppinions?

alright, i finally decided what im going to do, im going to go to the junk yard, find a good 350 engine with a good block, good heads and a good crank and buy that for about $350, then, after saving some money get a good bore job and get a rebuild kit from power house (enginekits.com) and rebuild the engine, then, during late winter/early summer i will swap the engines, and since my little old 305 is still running i will sell it for a couple hundred bucks and make back some of my money back. what does everybody think, is it a good plan? and has anybody ever got an engine kit from power house? i dont know how good they are, the kits r really cheap, and is there anything else i might need to do? thanks alot.

Sounds like a helluva plan.

As for the kits, I know alot of people on here have used them. really depends on what you want I guess.

for example Im looking at a forged 3.75" stroker rotating ***. from IRS for about 1800 bucks, But Im going to demand alot from it.

Just a mild <400 horse 350 should work fine On one of the Cheaper kits.

I went from a 305 tpi to a 350 TPI and i have to change the eprom. The best way is to get a custom one burnt. Other then that it sounds like a good plan. Good luck!

sounds like a plan, but id go with northern auto parts for the engine kit. only $300 with hyper pistons. and my main reason for suggesting them is YOU GET FREE JOLLYTIME POPCORN WITH EVERY INTERNET ORDER. too bad its not with phone order....they sent a note that they couldnt give me my popcorn since it was a phone order after i had asked for it on the phone and they said they would

EXACTLY.... do it how you want it and dont do it with cheap budjet parts especially if it will be driven daily. It really sucks ripping stuff back apart that you just put together.

I dont either, whats the point? Its not like little men are going to apper in a can of oil and pump the lifters full of oil durring the night. Just being a Smart @ss.

Seriously if you use prelube and then prelube the engine theres no need to soak lifters.
