Screw on valve seals?
I just bought a set of bare Pro Topline aluminum heads. They have the threaded valve guides installed but I haven't been able to find screw on seals. Personally, I have never seen threaded guides before. Does anybody know where I can find these types of seals, manufacturer part numbers would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

Never heard of such. They may just be there to help retain seals.
Measure their outer diameter (should be either .500" or . 530") and use the appropriate Teflon seals from Comp or Crane.

They're not threaded, just serrated. Like RB said, you need a set of rigid plastic (I don't think they're teflon- could be wrong) "PC Seals" from Comp or Crane.
Installation is fairly stright forward- install the valve in it's guide, gently push the seal down over the valve stem and onto the valve guide. Put a deep-well 7/16" socket over the seal and VERY GENTLY tap it home with a small hammer until it bottoms. You don't need to buy the special "install tool" they recommend with the seals- I've used the "deep socket" method for YEARS and never hurt one.

You were right Damon, they are serrated. I didn't really look that close the first time. I measured the guide and it is 0.50" I see that Comp Cams only has 0.530" seals. However, VTO sells a 0.50" PC type seal that is supposed to be a step above teflon. Would these be good on a daily driver, they mention they are alcohol and nitro tolerant. I recall others on this board saying to stay away from PC seals on a daily driver. Thanks for all the help guys.

Crane also sells a .500" (or maybe .501"? not sure) Teflon seal.
There's no reason not to use them, IF you use bronze guides. Almost all the aftermarket heads do. Don't use positive seals with cast iron giudes, those will not survive long without oil. It's not a "daily driver" issue so much as the material.
I run the Teflon seals on all my motors, including the one I'm driving today.

Do the different types of materials used have different colors? I just had my heads rebuilt and they have blue seals. What could these be? are they good?
