no ac or smog pump, will it work with tensioner

no ac or smog pump, will it work with tensioner

how can i take off my ac and smog pump, and still use the tensioner. do i have to use the delete pulley. how does that pulley mount. i wanted to take off that whole bracket that holds the ac and smog pump.

can i run the belt a new way with out using the delete pulley

No you can't take off the entire bracket, the delete pulley bolts to it. You may be able to run just the pulley with no smog, but since that is where the belt goes in to surround the water pump, it may not work.

I'm going through the same thing. You really can't use the tensioner by itself without changing to a grooved pulley. i think at high rpm's the belt would jump off.

The a/c delete pulley mounts in place of the compressor and you route the belt the same way it is now if you are using the air pump. You will have to look in the tech section for the smog pump delete mod and use the belt mentioned in there.

I will buy your bracket from you if you really want to get rid of it, I broke mine in half and need another.

You will have to play with routing the belt around everything, but you could do it using one of the adjustable tensioners at summit if you want to take off the bracket. You would have to put the adjustable rod on the alternator to tighten the belt.
