67 DZ302 Z28 Heads in 89 IROC?
My father recently picked up a set of Heads off a guy at work for free and i checked the casting numbers and they are from a 1967
302 or 327 Chevy motor. They are 2.02 intake with 1.6:1 rockers. Will these fit on my 89 5.7 TPI?

Chevrolet never put 1.6 rockers on anything until the HOT cam kit, and .... never mind, I won't go there (this time).
They might have 1.6" exhaust valves.
What casting #? Do they have accessory bolt holes in the ends?

Yeah I have a few sets of 186s myself, one set of them is on this weenie little 305 I'm driving around right now... it did 208 RWHP the other day, which isn't too shabby for a 305 with the stock intake, carb, air cleaner, and all emissions devices installed and operating including the cat, AIR, EGR, etc. (former California resident)
But 186s didn't come out until 69 I think, those are probably some of the other ones of the same sort, maybe 041s if they're really 302 heads.

The stock 89 TPI heads have nearly as much potential
for making power as the old camel backs. all you need to do is port them thouroughly and install bigger valves.
As long as you don't have "Swirl Port" heads, I'd just port up
and use the stock ones.
The old pre 69 high perf heads didn't have accessory bolt holes
in the ends of the heads.

rb might was thinking it but wouldn't say it so i will, there were no dz 302s in 67. if by chace you have anything, even a bolt or nut that can be varified as being off a 67 302 z/28 sell it to someone that really needs it, you'd get enough money to buy about any engine you wanted.

If by chance you did get your hands on a set of the 1-400 sets (I think there was 400 Z's made in 67) I think you would make quite a bit of money to sell those heads off. I'm betting though they are 327 truck heads or something. Maybe 461/462's off of a car? let's get a casting #.
