Degreeing a cam.....need some help

Well, I just put in my new cam today, and I need to degree it. I've never done this before. I bought the Summit cam degreeing kit, and the piston stop so I could do it with the heads off (which they are). It is an 89 block with a hydraulic roller camshaft. It came with instructions, but it didn't say anything about doing it with the heads off, nor did it say anything about a hydraulic roller camshaft. What procedures are going to be different for me? Also, how long does it usually take to degree a cam? I read the recent post on this but it didn't seem to help me. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
