I'm trying to hang these pistons on the rods, and I can't figure out how to get the round clip retainers into the groove in the piston. The clips are spiral type, like a flattened out keychain or something. To make things more difficult, the wrist pin is up so high it's in the ring land, so that is making it even harder to get the clips in. Is there some secret to installing these things? And anything else I ought to know when I install them? Thanks guys.

Spread the Spirolox (that's their name) out to the side, and roll it into the groove... just like you'd have to do with a key ring. Not many tricks or shortcuts that I know of.
You used to be able to get Teflon buttons you could use instead, haven't seen those for a long time though. They were a whole lot easier needless to say.
