car stalls sometimes but only when lights are on
when im driving at night and i stop at a light the voltage drops and my idle drops to like 300 allmost stalling ,sometimes it will stall if i don't put some gas into it.What is the problem. In the daytine with the lights down i don't get that problem.
PS it's the battery or alternator i've resently replaced them.

yeah curt, we both know that my car does that at idle Just two foot it (one on the brake, one on the gas) until you move again. The lights do flicker right? If so, alternator. The battery isn't really on much while your car is running.

Seems kinda odd that the lights would put enough strain on the system to kill the engine.
Could it be that the headlight motors are getting stuck on for some reason, causing the constant drain?
Also, yeah, replace any melted wires. heh. Any local parts store SHOULD have a battery ground cable.
And finally, never ever assume that just because it's new that it can't be broken. It sucks when you find that to be true, but what sucks even worse is when you check everything BUT that part because you're under the impression that it's working properly. (Been there many times myself.)
