Need help installing oil cooler.

I just bought a Transmission cooler for m car, I am going to use it to cool my motor oil.

How would I go about installing it? What I mean is what hoses would be the easiest to splice into?

I am also going to bypass my factory oil cooler.

How much cooler would my oil be with an after market oil cooler??

There are no hoses to spice into. Oil is only circulated within the engine and filter. The stock motor oil cooler lines carry coolant, not oil, to the adaptor to cool the oil. You will have to buy a sandwich adaptor that screws in between the oil filter and the block, then run hoses to the cooler.

I would tend to think the transmission cooler wouldn't have big enough lines for use with motor oil. Previous owner of my old Nissan truck installed an oil cooler and it had some pretty big tubes and lines compaired to tranny coolers.

my oil cooler has 3/8 npt fittings and i ran -16 lines from the filter, and -16 to the filter, my oil filter is on the frame rail. i wouldn't trust the barb fittings on your trans cooler you have. you only have 2 options of lines to use and cut into and you need both, supply and return. the best route to take would be to use new lines if you don't entirely give up on it and get a real oil cooler.
