How can i install a mechanical clutch fan onto a sepertine belt 3rdgen??
I have this overheating problem with my girlfriends camaro, so I figured since I already got a griffin radiator for it.........I already have the air dam there..............already replaced the water pump...........I might as well try a mechanical fan over the weak single electric fan. So I go to the junkyard, sweat my *** off removing a nice thermal clutch fan off a 80 something G body, then when I install it onto the camaro and start it up, it seems like its not blowing any air towards the engine, only straight up. So I look at the blades and remember that when you look at water pumps for these cars in magazines it says "reverse flow" doh!!! Damnit, so how the hell am I supposed to run a clutch fan on this car??!?!? I tried just flipping the blade section around, but then the fan only blows forward. Sucks, cuz I just basically flushed $25 down the toilet buying a shroud and fan/clutch assembly from the junkyard. I hate wasting money!!

Did any third gen ever come with a clutch fan? With the low hood line is there enough room for a mechanical fan? The waterpump pulley should be in the center of the rad for a mechanical fan to work.
I know I can't use one with my big block. The water pump pulley is about 3/4 of the way up the rad. A mechanical fan would stick through the hood.
The serpentine belt system "should" have a reverse direction rotation. You need a reverse fan to work so just any old fan may not work (If it will even fit)
