msd distributor pickup

I stupidly purchased a stock pickup coil and forgot that my distributor has this weird magnetic pickup, so I need to order the part from msd. I'm having a strange problem where after I drive the car around and let it sit for a bit it will not get fuel, and can be started with starting fluid(carb cleaner, whatever). I replaced the module last week, so this is what I think the problem is. Anyway, has anyone replaced this in their msd distributor? Do I even need to take it out of the car? I had the damn thing in my vice trying to punch the roll pin out before I noticed that I'm a dumbass.

Why do you say that? After I drive the car and it warms up I still get decent pressure at the rail, easily enough to start the car. The problem is that the injectors will not fire. It seems that it needs starting fluid to kick it up to 450ish rpms so that the computer takes over and the injectors start to fire. I was thinking the pickup coil is getting hot and since it's screwed up it may not be sending signals to the module and so on.

A possibly related problem is that when the car is cool and if I step on the gas pretty hard to pull a safe distance infront of an oncoming car on a turn, the car will just bog before it goes anywhere. When it is warm this problem is nonexistant. I have had problems with the car starting on an incline also. That's the extent of it. Maybe unrelated now that I think about it.
