All people with non computer controlled cars, PLEASE READ!!!!!!

I have a non computer controlled 350 in my 84 camaro(specs in sig). Car runs and idles great all the time. Only problem is when I run the air conditioning, If I am at a stop light or somethin the car will almost quit. It is only when I turn the air on, and if I turn it right back off, it will go right back to normal. When the guy sold it to me I think he said it needed an idle up scensor or somethin. Does anyone know what scensor this is, and since my car is non computer controlled, would this even work in my car. What scensors does a non computer controlled car use???? I know my oxygen scensor just serves as a plug for the hole, was thinking about hooking the a/f meter there, since I hear that it works great like that. ANy help would be great!!!!! Thanks Jason:hail:

Do you have this atached to your Edelbrock 750?

Edelbrock
Idle Compensator KIt #8059
Maintains correct idle speed when air conditioner is on. Includes 12-volt solenoid and mounting
bracket for all Edelbrock Performer Series carb.

It basicly kicks the thottle up a little while the air is on...

it idles at about 760 and in drive, drops to about 700. Like I said, it does fine till I turn the air on.

Unfortunately Jegs & Summit Racing want 80 bucks for the edelbrock one, but it does fit there carbs.

You might be able to make a mounting plate, and get the solenoid from a junk yard. Most stock cars in the 70's & 80's with a carb & AC had them.

Oh --- It mounts in front of the thottle bracket, and acts like an extended thottle stop when the air is on.
