Best value electric fuel pump for Edelbrock 1406?

Just found out that what I thought was a blockoff plate on my "new" 350 block for the fuel pump is actually just a cast flat surface... Sooo, I need to find myself the best value electric fuel pump I can for my Edelbrock 1406 carb. I'm looking at the Carter one and the Holley Red. This is gonna be a daily driver with nice power that I can ocassionally bring to the track. Not looking for something that'll kill me with constant tank refills. Any other options, like a Federal Mogul or something?

Well, at this point money's quite tight. So you're saying that even though the Holley's a few dollars more to go for it? It's that much better than the Carter?

Get the Holley Blue pump. It comes with an adjustable regulator.

I second that, the edelbrocks dont like too much pressure, the regulator will be nice to have.

If it's going on a daily driver *READ: DAILY DRIVER* you'll want to get the Holley black pump-ALOT more durable for longevities sake over the blue pump-you will need a regulator with any of them unless you skimp for the Holley red. Then when you mount it get the softest rubber feet and insulators you can find cause the noise will drive you insane!!!

LOL I was figuring the Carter pump will be the best bet, cuz isn't the Edelbrock really a Carter?

The carter will out live any of the holley pumps.
The carter was designed to run continously, like on the street.
The holley is not designed for this. The carter does not need a regulator. The carter pump will feed a 400 hp motor with capasity to spare. And it costs less.
Federal Mogul owns Carter now. It's the same pump. It will come in a Speed-Pro box.

Well, muchos gracias. That's the info I needed. This car will indeed be a daily driver, and I most likely won't be pushing it over 400 HP, and if I do, I won't be using an Edelbrock 1406. LOL I will be ordering the pump from Summit soon.
