My fuel filter is too tough to remove!
Ok since this is a "tech only" board I might as well ask, yesterday I tried to get my fuel filter off to change it because it gives me a kinda rough idle, but it is to damn hard to take off even with liquid wrnch it wont give. I don't want to break the line so any idea on how to take it off safely?

Get some PB Blaster spray. Keep spraying the connections. If need be, buy the the flare wrenches to remove the fuel lines from the filter. They are made for wrenching on fuel, brake and other easily bent lines. Don't force them. You'll hate yourself later!

I can tell you that some things are better left to a shop (a good one). It cost me ~$40 to have someone else do mine. I did try it myself and had the same problem you're having. You can only get so much leverage when the car is only 12" off the garage floor.
If the shop breaks or bends anything, they gotta replace it (again a good shop with a good reputation). Plus YOU don't have to worry about gas fumes, gas in your eyes, or even the added hassle of replacing fuel lines that YOU bent.
I've done a lot of work on my car that I never thought I would even try (struts, installed my PowerTrax locking diff, and installed new rear springs). I always thought that this stuff was beyond the relm of my abilities. I guess I was wrong. But once I tried changing the fuel filter, I said "F***-that". :nono:
Know your limits, as well as, know that some things are worth paying to have done.
Just my 2¢. Good luck,
AJ

jack it up and put all four corners of the car on stands to give you plenty of room. Get two open end wrenches (right sizes of coarse), one to turn the fitting, using the other as a backup wrench to prevent the lines from twisting. You an now turn it as hard as you want w/o bending the lines. Not as hard as you can, though, you might round off the nuts on the fittings.
Yeah... mine was a pain to get out. But i got it eventually.

Don't have an electric light under the car with you. Gas is going to spill out, even if you remove the line pressure first. I was given this advice by a guy who learned the hard way. BIG garage fire.
